We knew it was love at first sight. Our visions mirrored each other’s, our talents complemented each other, our goals lined up, and we thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company. In our first sit-down meeting we knew we’d go the distance. And in just four short months, we’ve seen our relationship soaring to heights that still take our breath away. Of course, we’re talking about our growing partnership with The Dizzy Daisy.
After attending the same bridal shows in a row back in February with The Dizzy Daisy, we decided to sit down and see what we could create together. Just a short couple weeks from that meeting, we put on an entire styled wedding shoot… in a storm, at the beach. That shoot was quickly picked up by ten publications (and counting). We knew we had something magical here.
In the midst of creating the styled shoot, Dana and Elisa presented an opportunity that made me quite giddy: to style their bridal consultation room. You see, I love bringing new life to places. I can usually step into a room and envision turning it into being more inviting and relaxing. This project pulled together many things I love: weddings, working with bold colors, styling, working with vendors/building relationships, while showcasing something creative and different every couple months (the sweetheart table).
Given that the bridal room is located in a florist shop, I wanted to stick to a garden-like theme; I also love pairing bold colors. With those two things in mind the color palette presented itself: green base, fuchsia pop, and the “grounding” color of brown. The room needed four elements: consultation table, vendor informatin, coffee corner, and a showcasing of different table-setting styles. However, the room would not be what it is without the help of all the talented vendors involved!
I wanted a neutral, yet elegant backdrop for the changing sweetheart table. What says elegant more than heavy drapes, chandelier and thick gold framed mirror? Kim, over at Sweet Pea Rentals, with her unique and eclectic collection of decor provided the chandelier and gold mirror; Kim also creatively delivered the coffee corner for our guests.
For the styled sweetheart table I have the pleasure to work with Alice Eddy at Classic Party Rentals – Orange County every six weeks to create a new look with linens, glassware, flatware, one-of-kind chairs, chargers and plates. Classic Party Rentals has a plethora of party rentals that extend far beyond the sweetheart table (think Oscars – which by the way they do – with the grand tents, tables, bars, and table settings). We also get to extend a discount to you for your wedding rental needs, so just let Alice or I know how we can help!
Finishing the look of the table is Amy Gonzales of Smitten on Paper. Smitten on Paper has a beautiful array of paper collections for your wedding, providing a one-stop shop for invites, wedding programs, place cards, menus, favor boxes, and more. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for in their collection, Amy will personally customize a look specially for your wedding. Every six to eight weeks Dizzy Daisy will provide a floral centerpiece and we will shoot and post the whole sweetheart table look. This is to inspire brides and grooms with different looks for their wedding: color palettes, table settings, and floral design; and how they can get that look from which vendors
Across the room from the sweetheart table is the vendor wall. We wanted a place for brides and grooms to navigate our vendor information with ease. Above the shelves is a gallery wall of Dizzy Daisy’s wedding floral to give you a full sense what a collection looks like within one wedding: bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and floral decor. This gallery will be changed out with the seasons to keep with the trends. End-capping the vendor table are Friar Tux – who always has the update-to-date trends and classic styles on hand for the grooms and their guys; and, A Perfect Fit – who provides all your wedding undergarment needs – plus great items for the honeymoon and beyond. And across the room is one of my favorite wedding dresses from Ferndales Bridal – they are The Knot’s 2015 Pick for “Best of Weddings”, so be sure to make an appointment for your wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses.
When sitting down and building out our core values for Mehta Weddings, our vision was to streamline the wedding planning process while building meaningful relationships with clients and vendors alike; and these partnerships are helping us to achieve that for our brides and grooms. So let us be your wedding photographer, planner and coordinator who can connect you with fantastic like-minded vendors. Let us take your wedding to the next level and have a memorable time on the way.
