A connection session is simply a phrase used to describe a casual shoot done for couples that aren’t looking for an engagement or a family shoot. The couple could be dating, engaged, or even married. It’s a fun way to get new professional images done without the pressure of going the formal route.
With that said, I had the opportunity to do a connection session in San Francisco this summer. My roommate from college, Luis, had reached out to me after I had mentioned online that I was looking to take on some additional clients during my trip. He had just gotten married last year, and they wanted to get some photos done.
I met them at their place in the Mission District, from where we walked around the area to find somewhere to shoot. As you can see, there were some beautiful spots scattered throughout their neighborhood. We did a couple quick looks and then grabbed some early dinner after.
