I met Christina and Drake at the bible study they used to lead at Grace Fellowship Church. Early on, they had shared the tragedy their family had been through when they lost their son some years before then. It was in light of it that they started their non-profit, Judson’s Legacy. To that end, they asked me about doing a portrait mini-session.
They were living in the complex off Harbor and Wilson in Costa Mesa at that time. Wilson Park was right next door to them, so we met there. I usually aim to get full-body and 3/4 body as a rule for portrait sessions. There’s always room to crop in for a headshot if needed, but the reverse poses a problem, as you can imagine. I photographed them individually, then got some portraits of them together.
